Little Green Man (PH33R T3H 1337 B33R!!!11!!)

This started out just as an experiment with fiber materials for another project that I had in mind. But, I liked how this one came out.

The creature was made from an adaptive skinned sphere.

The beard was done in postwork after baking.

As always, 121 welcome.

T3H Z-Haxorz![znark.jpg]

Funny model.
This is a good fiber render.

cute character and nice render!!

Maybe this one’s better?

I tried a different fiber material as well as some different skin textures on the model.

Hopefully, the trees are looking better. The trees were made from an adaptive ZSphere model.

Some improvements were made to the mesh here and there. Mainly with the arms and the nose.

I used the smudge tool after baking to create the moss hanging down from the trees.

The beer can needs to be lit better.

Any constructive crits welcome.

Both are great, however, the last guy has more visual detail.
Nice!
Lemo

the grass is beuti…very int eresting:+1:

You have a grass simmilar to this in the material folder as sample! Try the fiber samples. Don’t forget to enable them in the render tab and render with BEST.
Cheers
Lemo (Going to get some leet beer myself :D)

I have couple things taht i would want to see difrent but if you like it now, its ok :]
-i think that the background needs more gras
-difrent fog color,
-try to blur the end of the gras or something
-i would like to see difrent material on him and light
-A little les light on him from the right side would be nice
-and try to bake th image and use a difrent light on the beer can :stuck_out_tongue:
thats all my crits :]
The trees now are cool :]

I like the first one better…perspective, fog etc wise. Like the dude better too.

I like the idea of the moss but how you have it is too uniform in the second pic. do a couple here and there if ya decide to keep it.

would also bring the fog up just past the grass so the transition is a bit smoother from grass to dirt.

do an alpha grab of the scene and use that for a depth mask and turn depth on for best render.

some other things to play with are adding a texture to the fog for color. also could find a nice mellow texture for the gdi slot in lights…these things take some experimenting and not sure what kind of time you want to invest in it.

most of all…have fun and do what you like!

ps…is that a version…i do believe it was you…of the grass material you posted in the old amnc challenge? if so do you mind sharing the settings? this version reminds me so much of the grass that wasn’t really grass that was everywhere in San Diego, Ca and in Naples, fla…you know those warm wonderful places.

Regarding the fog: I would, but fog doesn’t play well with the fiber material. If you have fiber material extending into the depth of the fog, it has strange effects on the fiber material, like it’s a lot lighter than it should be. If anyone has a workaround please let me know. :qu:

I think you might be thinking of Mentat7.

For the grass, I used the material that comes with ZBrush in the ZMaterials folder. The one that looks like a bunch of clumps on the material sphere and I drew the material on the ground using the spray stroke and the grass texture that comes with ZBrush in the texture pallette.

Here’s the latest update. This’ll probably be my last update on this one since there are other things I want to finish up too.

For the grass I scrapped the fiber material and ended up using the fiber tool instead, since I don’t get the fog transition problem with that. I still kept the fiber materail for the character but made a couple of changes to that. I added a couple minor things here and there.

The lettering on the bottom was done with Elefont.

As always, any 121 welcome.
