Lion-O - Thundercats

Hi guys. A few days ago I was watching again the thundercats cartoon, remembering how great it was. So I decided to model the Lion-O because he’s my favorite character ever. For this work I used, Zbrush for sculpting, Maya and mental ray for completion, Shave and haircut for his hair and
photoshop for post production. Estimated time of work was 15 days for modeling and texturing, 10 days for rigging, lighting and rendering.

Nice! I think the pose and texture could use a little work but the sculpt is great man. I love the thundercats…great stuff!

Very cool. The hair looks nice. allround its good. maybe the teeth are a little to perfect. would love to see some more wips

Can you post a side view of the head without the hair, please? I would like to use it as a reference, one day, maybe.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the feedback. I totally agree, I need to improve some things, especially what bothers me most is his pose. Soon I’ll be posting it in other poses. Thank you for recompense. (sorry for my English).

Hey mate it’s me again and I’ve got a question. I just passed to some “ending” part of my mesh, where I added some detail I could and I was wondering about one thing - how did you do the polypainting of the skin ? I couldn’t find any valuable reference or image to use in Spot Light, so it would be cool if you show me a way to do that.

This is a ncie piece, well executed, and very much like the character.
I dont like the shaders tho, but this is easyyyyyy to fix. I hope you keep working on this and make it jaw dropping!!!
