Lightwave displacement mapping

I am having a bit of trouble getting Lightwave to displace my Z models. I build the model in low res form in Lightwave, then import the obj into Z. I set the smoothing to 1, then create a GUV tiled map of the low res model, then I save out the morph target. Then I subdivide the model a few times, do my sculpting, then bring the resolutions back to level 1, switch to my stored morph target, create a 4096 displacement map, flip the map on the v channel, save out the tiff of the displacement map, then save out the obj. Load it and the texture into Lightwave and using the normal map plugin I got from Flay, then render the model and I am getting a bit of displacement, but the model does not look anything like it did in Z brush. I have tried adjusting the settings in the normal mapping and the bump channel, but cannot get the results I saw others get. Any ideas?

Thanks

if your normal mapping with say the ATI normal mapping plugin then it works or it dosent.

If your using displacement maps use Lynx3d’s displacement mapping plugin it works waaay better then the native LW displacement plugin.

PS. there are lightwave to zbrush tutorials out there. BTW your using a sub-d model right, and subdividing it so that it has as many polys as your highrez model u made in zbrush right.
