Lights don't work in zbrush3?

I’m still very much a newbie to this so please forgive me if this is a silly question. Now, in zbrush2 i was able to use the lighting just fine, however in zbrush3… I’m pressing on the lights, changing the angles, etc and nothing happens. what am i doing wrong?

You most likely have a MatCap material selected like the default Red Wax. These materials have baked-in lighting, set by the material’s light map. To use dynamic lighting you need to switch a non-MatCap material.

Hi, thanks for he reply.

I tried the materials under the metcap ones such as basicmaterialB etc and the lighting still isn’t working

Most settings will not have much effect until you do a Best Render in the Render palette.

Ah! That did the trick, thank you so much! I’m still new to all of this and I had no idea it was because of that, sorry if i wasted your time. Thanks again! :+1:
