Light Box Alpha always assingns to the Texture channel

Hi all,

I got some issues regarding the brush’s alpha / texture channel. I have recently downloaded a bunch of alphas for my brushes. I then copied em to the directory where the Light Box picks them up ( C:\Program Files (x86)\Pixologic\ZBrush 3.5 R3\ZData\Alphas ).

Now when I’m in ZB and go to the Alphas panel of the Light Box i can see all my new alphas but when I choose one, it will always assign to the Texture Channel of my brush and not as expected to the alpha channel.

How can I solve this problem:qu:

The alphas must be 16-bit Grayscale PSD for them to go to the Alpha palette. Otherwise, they will always go to Texture. Of course you can always click the Texture>Make Alpha button to move it to the Alpha palette if you don’t feel like converting the alphas.

Big thanks for the answer, it was really helpful. I noticed already some times when i clicked a random alpha it happend to go to the alpha palette.
Good to know about the grayscale thing :slight_smile:
