You know I just can’t stop playing with ZBrush. I had a few free moments mostly in the late evenings this week and this is what I did. I was just playing with zmats and layers and alphas just to get a better understanding of how they all worked.
Jantim sorry I ripped off your theme.

PATTON
yep thats really nice … it really is
I told you zbrush was evil…you can leave it but it won’t leave you!!!
I am glad tho…then we get to watch you experimenting and all are a pleasure to view!!!
Keep on playing!!
“Life & Dead” are universal theme’s so there can’t be a rip-off !
And since you are a clearly a man who love’s his skulls-or skills-you are forgiven
jantim
ps. since your imagery shows an interest in Mythology i would advise changing the material for the cracked egg-shell…it looks like a peeled boiled egg now !
Jantim,
I agree with you about the egg shell. It was the last thing I put in this piece late last night. Do you have any suggestions for a good egg shell material? I would appreciate it.
mm
MM you can change what ever but your style is UNIQUE¡

I spent at least 1o minutes looking at this one…great EVERYTHING.
Monstermaker,
The skull in the center seems very familiar to me.?? Or am I mistaken??

Just one look at your usergallery shows that you don’t have to learn much on making good-looking materials…i think you used the your “old” skull material on this eggshell…in this case that does not work in combination with your lighting and your other materials…perhaps my " old bone"material could do the trick, any blotchy white material can be used i think…if you bake the layer you can even use the your original material.
What’s most important is : What kind of egg is it ? A fresh bird egg ready to hatch, or an age old stone egg, a scaly dragon egg…your the eggmaker
I adapted an old plastermaterial to make a sort of eggshell…and if you can’t use it as it is , perhaps you can change it to your liking…i made it on a 1280x960
canvasscale so if you dont like the size of the bumps & paterns on the shell you can adapt it to your canvas-size!
Gracias 4 goodies
jantim.
thanks for the material haven’t had the chance to use it yet though maybe tonight.

I thought that I would apologize in advance for this sick image. I made this little fetus guy to replace the egg in the previous image, was going to make it translucent with eyes skull ect. inside, but this happend instead.I figured that I’de post it until I can get around to fixing up the other image.sorry

Very nice image…I like the dark implications…actually the first thing that came to mind was some old jokes from when I was a kid…ie the dead baby jokes aka what’s grosser than a pile of dead babies…answer…a live one on the bottom eating it’s way out…etc…I am sure some remember those…was from the time also baby in a blender jokes were around…well I side track…
Very kewl image…looking forward to your other idea rendering with regards to the babies.
kudos

hey MM,
you warned folks, you shouldn’t have to apologize for the image. Art isn’t all sunflowers and happy days. It should
move and stir us in ways we couldn’t have anticipated, no
matter the subject.
It’s a step in your moving on, coming to terms, exploring those feelings etc. Keep on keeping on!
I agree with the above comments … I see allegory / symbolism in this (whether intended or not). It’s very powerful. Course, if you’d used a realistic skin shader …
Agree, no apology required, the baby theme reminds me of an HR Giger painting.
