I used to post here alot, have not done so in a long while, thought i would make a wips thread starting off with the last work that i posted in an older thread. Never finished the character, thought that i would try to put it in some scene or context. finished of all the clothing for him
doing some tests for a background for the above character

did some work on the tiger i posted, gave it a bit a back ground, might have to play with it a little, pose isn’t sitting to well on the rocks and as i am typing this i am noticing a bit of a mesh error on the foot

redesigned the clothing for this guy, going to put it into more of a jib picture, redid the top, gloves, boots, pretty much the whole thing, still need to tweak a bit, the shoulder warped a little. and pants are a bitt off at the bottom, but that is to accomodate some bindings that are not finished yet

finished the boots and bindings. About 15 subtools and base mesh done in max. I didn’t do any laces because they wont be seen at all and i didn’t want to weigh down my poor old laptop. played with decimation master for the binding parts, worked really well and was much more and predictable than the displacement. bindings are k2’s for andy snow nerds out there. render in vray. c and c welcome

@ mohamed raoof : thank you
@ Mahlikus The Black. Hey mate, good to be back, will have to have a dig around the forum to see if you have posted anything lately, can’t wait to see how far you have progressed. I figure you are at ILM by now.
@ Frenchy : Thank you as always frenchy
here is another moddel that I did a little bit back when 3.5 just came out just started playing to see what would come out, playing with forms , Its not entirely abstract, there is meaning in there, was really fun. had never done anything like it before. the tree ended up clocking up 200 or 300 zspheres, can’t remember which. render in vray
Put the character into max. This is a combo of decimated meshes and displacement maps, for some parts it seemed faster to do a displacement map and for some parts it came out better as a decimated mesh. c & c welcome
clay render of whole the whole scene, C&C welcome
nice job. Really like your renders.
The boots came out nice. lots of detail for something that is so small in the final render. The last render is cool. Im trying to get my head around 3ds max rendering at the moment and its pretty tricky.
Hey Paul, great scene, big attention to details, the snow on the handrail is very convincing! Are you planning a full textured scene?
Keep up the good work mate
