Learning ZBrush: Where to start?

So far, I’ve been using ZB only to create morphs for objects that were made in other applications.
Now I would like to learn to model in ZB, since it has so many cool new features. But I don’t know where to start.
Is there an official ZB course somewhere, or should I just watch the videos in the ZB classoom? Is there any special order in which I should watch them?

The way I learned (and am still learning) was to continuously try EVERYTHING I can think of.
That’s just me, I like buttons.
The ZClassroom has been seriously updated and while I don’t know what you are able to do now I would suggest starting there.
You can skip around a good bit, but start off simple at first, ZBrush does things in ways that no other program I have ever seen does things, its sort of a different way of thinking and once you understand that other stuff begins to flow quickly.
Start here:

Also, and this is the best advice I can think of, start a thread in the main forum to show what you are doing and ask questions there and in here, the best resource for learning ZBrush is other users and they seem for some strange reason to accumulate in this forum.
The people in this forum taught me almost everything I know about ZBrush and a whole lot about other things like art in general.

Cheers,

a good thing to do (after having introduced yourself to the basics) is to follow some special tutorial closely and really learn, practice and finish the task given in this tutorial. as soon as you feel comfortable in one area of zbrush, you will be able to enter other areas without loosing the overview.
it´s important to note that the first steps in learning any 3d package take the most amount of time and therefore require a lot of patience.

to find tutorials search youtube or purchase stuff like gnomons or eat3d or digital tutors (etc…) tutorials

good luck!

Yeah I now how you feel starting with Zb! Still a newbie myself but I have found the Spiderbot Canon tutorial on this website here very good indeed for learning some techniques (hard surface mostly) and learning a workflow - has helped me to get to grips with the way Zb does things. You can watch the vids for free I think or pay a small amount and download them to your HD.

The site is run by a very helpful chap as well - well worth checking it out for other tutorials as well as well as free IMMs and Alphas.

I almost forgot, these tutorials are rather dated at this point but they cover the basics very very well and were amazingly helpful to me when I started.
There are a few things that will not apply as they are obsolete in current versions of ZBrush but this guy makes splendid tutorials and these are still worth watching:

Its very possible he has updated his stuff and that it is on YouTube but I’m not sure of that.

Thanks a lot!
