leaf

Sorry for all my basic questions. I want to create a leaf plane object using a line tool that gives the smoothness of a spline closed curve. I would like to subdivide this filled in leaf plane in order to emboss features on it. What’s the best way? Aand, would I ideally need a separate spline modeler to create the closed curves and then import this into ZB? or, can I use a vector 2D program such as Adobe Illustartor or xara to just do the outline and somehow use that as a cutout method in ZB?

Thanks.

I would just use the Terrain3D tool and edit its Initialize settings to get the curve of the leaf. Then make it into a polymesh, divide it, and use a leaf alpha to mask out the shape of the leaf. From there you can delete the stuff that won’t be part of the leaf itself.

Another way that I’ve used with some success is to mask a polyplane and extract a subtool. You can control the thickness and the edge will be smoothed. You can use an imported alpha for the masking.
