Layers disappear when switching to other layers

I have a document with several layers, and one object, or several related objects in each layer.

When I switch layers objects from various layers disappear. They’re still there, but it’s getting tricky trying to figure out which layer to select to have all objects visible.

How do I make zbrush stop doing this?

…has his own objects!
If you disable one, it’s normal that object “disapear” with it
If you want only some layer just click any orange triangle in the Menu Layer
I’ts also possible than layers are in different “Z” position and not visible between each other due this Z position !

If you’re using transparency I’ve noticed that sometimes causes unexpected behaviour. What you get depends on which layer is active.

Shift-clicking a layer will switch all layers on or off.

Also keep in mind that layers can be turned off. If a layer is turned off, it will disappear until you next select that layer. If all of your layers are turned off, then only the currently-selected one will ever be visible, and will disappear again as soon as you select another.

You cen tell the status of your layers by looking at the Layer palette. Any layer that is On will have an orange triangle in the upper left corner (assuming you haven’t changed your interface colors). Layers that are turned Off will have no triangle. Click on your active layer to toggle it on or off. Shift+Click on a layer to toggle all layers on or off.

Perhaps I have some of them turned off. I will check when I have access.

I don’t think I have anything related to transparency set (e.g. flatten “off” et.al.) although I don’t think i turned off any layers either.

I can see how I could have done that w/o realizing it though.

Thanks to all.

That was it. Thanks. I would like to put in a vote for a bit less subtle UI in this area.

Oh, and one other oddity. After deleting a layer, zbrush did not notice that the document had changed, and it didn’t enable the “save” button.
