Layerbrush help?

Noobie here. So forgive the question, but I am self learning and can’t work out what I am doing wrong !

Simple tool. Apply symmetry, hit morph target and use the layer brush.

however where the layer brush overlaps itself on symmetry, it doubles up in height !

how can I use symmetry, layer brush but maintain a single height on the surface of the model?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

I don’t think there’s a way to avoid the overlap, apart from not sculpting across the axis join. What you could do is:

  1. Without symmetry, sculpt on one side of the model, going over the axis to make sure you have reached it.
  2. Mask the ‘sculpted’ side. The easiest way to do this is to turn off perspective and drag a mask from off the model.
  3. Press Tool>Deformation>Smart ReSym (make sure the right axis letter is turned on on the button first). This will copy the sculpting from the masked side to the other side.
