Addressed a few of the issues pointed out earlier.
can’t wait to see the finished posed model. right now the pose looks a bit odd.
some really cool designs in here. keep it up
Hey Jagoro.
Thanks for the feedback.
Here is a quick pose test. Still think it can this sculpt and pose could be pushed even further, but here where I am at the moment with it.
Cheers.
Another concept sculpt.
This is great. You should look at African tribal body piercing, like the Maasai. Those long earlobe type designs would look great with some cultural piercings and some neck rings. drape some robes over one shoulder.
I like this one a lot.
Sean
Hey Sean,
Thats a great idea. I just had a look at some reference and really think the your input is really going to add to the sculpt.
Thanks heaps.
I’m just giving some ideas. Your doing the work, and good work it is.
Keep going…don’t stop.
Sean
You really need to start taking gravity and bone structure into account when modeling ;]
Like for instance, what are those horns things ?
Bones ? then what do they grow from ? Why are they covered in skin ? Where do the horns start and the flesh end ?
Parts of skins ? Then why do they float, they should go straight down.
Teeth ?, then why are they covered in skin ?
And so on. Same thing is with why is his head so far forward ? would tire him very fast.
Will help it make it more believeable if you yourself know what you want to show, it can be anything but you will have to give it proper thickens gravity depending on what you choose.
Hey Slocik.
Thanks for those ideas and feedback.
They are really valuable.
I will try to work these into my new sculpts.
Thanks again. Super valuable insight.
Cheers.
A couple of things I been playing with:-
(Slocik, now I’ve looked at these I see what you mean about gravity. Will definitely bear that in mind for my next sculpts).
Cheers
Yes, this is looking good. Can I suggest putting some sharp piercings and tribal tattoos on the male figure?
Sean
Really like the way that top one came together with the tribal stuff. Nice work
Thanks heaps for the feedback guys.
I really appreciate it.
With your input I am making progress.
Here is the tribal sculpt with a different matcap render.
I want to start on another idea now.
Cheers.
Wow your details are getting very good!
Yes, this is good. I would like to see a polypaint on this design. But if you are going to start a new design, I can’t wait to see it.
Sean
Hey guys thanks for the feed back.
Tonare: Been really trying to develop a bit more detailing skills just to add some sense of realism to my sculpts. Started to see that sometimes less can be more when it comes to detailing.
Sean: Yeah poly painting is something I should really be doing with these sculpts but I am really enjoying sculpting so much right now, and learning so much every time I do sculpt. I just want to be sculpting. Haha.
Here is a quick idea…
A bit to mush SSS in that last render.
(This Zbro Clayset matcap is so good. Thank you for your generosity.)
I agree with Sean, these are great and I would love to see you paint them too.
You make fantastic creatures who have a lot of personality.
Cheers!
Mealea
Laurie, you are a really good sculptor. Adding a polypaint work flow to your tool box would sent you to the next level of your art making career. Polypainting might be challenging at first but stick with it, you will get better. Just like you got better with your sculpting.
With that said, I like the design of this creature, but the face is too detailed. Some areas of rest are needed on the face.
Sean
You’re getting better with each one I see. This is awesome!
Yea I agree adding some polypaint would be cool too. I do like the clay look too. I find polypaint as much if not work as sculpting right now at my skill level but its fun and really rewarding once you get something you like.
