Hi,
I just bought ZBrush 4R4, installed it and when i tried to launch it i got this error:
“The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.”
This happened on a brand new PC with fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate, 64Bit.

Did you track down the log file to see what the problem is? It should be installed in (x86) applications not 64 bit.
Yes the program has been installed in the (x86) folder. Where can i find the log file?
Try Start> Administrative tools> Event Viewer.

Thank you! The first link above in the post by Doug Jones re: running the older C++ redistributable exe fixed my installation, on Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.
