Lasso Stroke Mask Blur Strength Adjustment?

How does one adjust the blur strength of masks made using the Lasso stroke? I tried adjusting the Preferences/Mask Blur Strength value with no success: it made no difference to the blurriness of the mask.

Zooming in and out of the workspace changes the blurriness, but is not really very convenient. Large areas that require crisp masking cannot be masked in one go with this awkward functionality.

I’m sorry to trouble you guys with what seems like such a basic question, but I can’t find documentation on it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time,

Hold down Ctrl and keep clicking on the mask portion. The more you click, the more it will blur.

Ctrl Click and Ctrl Alt Click is how you blur and sharpen masks across the board, but that changes the blurriness of masks already applied to the mesh.

Thank you for your suggestion, but it is not an adequate solution I’m afraid.
