Lasso mask.

In the help on the lasso button it says with the button pressed and control key held down you can create a lasso mask. Am I missing something because when I do this I just get ordinary masking but no lasso? :confused:

By the ordinary you mean square area of selection with mask? I neber heard of anything liek that. Lasso always worked fine for me

I can’t duplicate what you’re describing either. Except under the following situation:

If you have the DragRect stroke type selected and your stroke begins on the model itself, you will get standard masking behavior instead of the lasso.

Thanks very much nebular and aurick. It was the situation you suggested aurick; I was trying to create the masking lasso on the model itself with the DragRect stroke selected.

I cannot believe after having had ZBrush so long that I still don’t know all of its features. I only suddenly realised in the last couple of days that this lasso masking could be done and then got it wrong :o .

Anyway thanks again for the help, I now have it working okay. There is something to be said for learning one programme at a time, instead of trying to master three or four all at once and making slow progress with all of them. :+1:
