So, currently i’m working on a sculpt based on the famous female singer Lana Del Rey.
I’ve been working on it for a while and i really want it to be a portfolio piece, so feel free to give any critics !
Hi! I see a little likeness in there, but you have to work a little more on the anatomy of the face. One thing to keep in mind when doing female portraits, don’t accentuate the details too much, in your case, the corner of the nose, the lines of the eyes. The area that bothers me the most is the lips area and the chin. Also, when looking from the front, I think the head is too long vertically and too wide from the forehead down. Try to study more on some reference photos of her and some other women, also look on some traditional sketches regarding the face anatomy. You’re on the right track, don’t worry about it, just don’t discourage and keep at it!Hope this helps and I’m sorry if I was too harsh on the critics:)!
You’re really not that harsh, it’s actually pretty helpfull information you gave me there, thnx !
Made her face a little more rounder, smoother, forhead smaller, chin smaller, blurred out the eye region, gave her eyelashes and retouched her eyebrows and mouth a little !
maybe i should stop staring at it for a while to see the mistakes, also… i could really spend an ethernity on making her look right. She really looks different in every video.
Feel free to comment …
Yesterday I spent a whole day getting the textures and materials right, used some of the pixologic downloadcenter, very cool materials !

Very nice portrat.
There’s something about the jaw line and the underlying neck that’s disturbing my eye somewhat. Cant really tell what it is though…
The update is better, good work:). You’re right, staring at the same thing over and over is making you ruining your previous changes; it’s very hard to make likenesses, especially women. The only road to get good at it is practice and practice. One good practice to get a head right, any head, not just a specific one, is to start from a sphere; try to do that; if you master this, your road in doing good likeness is not that hard anymore. Good luck on your next projects, keep it up!
I started this one from a sphere, and your definitly right! I just have to practice more and more !
