Lace in ZBrush - does anyone know how to do this?

Hello,

I would like to do something like this in Zbrush (see image), but I have no clue how to. I know how alpha works in Maya/XSI, so you can just make the rest transparent, however it doesn’t really convert in the same way to Zbrush…
Do I need to sculpt this/use alphas, stencils,… ? I have absolutely no clue! I already tried googling it, but couldn’t find anything.
If anyone could help me out, that’d be awesome!

I’d try with alphas. Make a nice and clean alpha in photoshop. Use it as an alpha for mask brush on a plane, cube, do a subtool/extract command and you’ll get a good base for further sculpting. Have in mind that you’ll need fair amount of divisions for all those tiny details.

Another way could be to draw the construction with zsketch, there’s a great example here:

Good luck.
