Kudu Charge

I really think this is a great work of art, as the Kudu is one of the beautiful animals found in our country, just a pity it gets hunted so much…

Keep up the work…

Ziggy

When I saw it some months ago, I was speechless. The kudu is extremly well textured and soooooo “real” even the pose catches the power of that creature. Amazing eye for details and thanks for sharing the fur tutorial =)

Cheers “ko’gen”.

Great Work!!!

Holy s***!!! you totaly deserve that top row! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Wondeful work! The animal is very expressive, the motion and the texture are simply amazing! Do you think that is possible for you to show your base mesh? Do you have a screenshot? Im very curious about how you started your process, its very good!
Congrats for the work!

…graceful :+1:

You have really captured something beautiful, right there in the face, the eyes. Its truly a piece of art.

great job man wonderfulwork.

OMG, this is beautiful and realistic! :+1: :+1:

its such a beautiful animal! one of my favourites from back home!

great jon man! excellent!

Excellent modeling, texturing, and renders. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

that’s really awesome! :+1:
could you show the texture please?

I’m personally tired of lumpy ZBrush monsters and aliens in comic book poses. You captured naturalism, subtlety, tension and most importantly gesture and animation. Best thing I’ve seen on this forum for years.
YAY!

Sublime! Nature in it’s full and honest glory. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Incredible work.
I am a big fan of modeling characters and animals.

Could you show the original appearance of the animal Z-spheres?
Just very interesting to see the initial phase modeling.

I love wildlife and Africa!!!
Impressive work! Top row modeling and texturing - only thing I can think of is the mouth? Many antilopes and gazelles have an open mouth while running with the tongue somewhat exposed. Think it will add juuust that last bit to the entire motion.

Just a thought

Post more cool work - plz

touch of reality.
congratulations…

very good work,impressive!..

Thanks everyone for your comments.

graycubed—The odd background effect is unintentional. I’ll have to upload some ‘non-web save’ jpgs.

Bokaja— I do regret not opening the mouth. That would have expressed exertion in the run. I’m thinking about putting the model in a full environment and will add an open mouth then.

The base mesh—Since time was a factor on the project and animation was not a factor, I made a simple base mesh to get the sculpting started. Sculpting and texturing was the focus. You can see the base mesh and sculpting progress in the [WIP Thread](http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=208&t=533990)
