Kublai Khan

I’ve always loved Mongolian culture and I was blown away when I watched Netflix’s Marco Polo. That’s why I made this fan art of the great khan.
Modeling and sculpting done in Maya and Zbrush. I used Marvelous Designer for the clothes underneath all that leather armour which I’ll like to show in future posts.
Texturing was done with Substance Painter, and texturing.XYZ maps. The hairs were done with Xgen and rendered in Arnold 5.

This is top class.

I really enjoyed the series and before I picked up ZBrush I was imagining being able to model a stylised version of the character “Hundred Eyes”. Thanks for reminding me .

Yeah it’s an amazing show, and Hundred Eyes was one of the coolest characters in it. Sucks that they cancelled it though.
