KSG - Realistic Gun

Hi,

This is a gun I started modeling for a character and it ended up being a project of its own.

This was my first use of dynamesh and certainly not my last. I modeled basic objects in 3ds max to be used as boolean in zbrush. About 90% of objects were created/modified with dynamesh.

Texturing was done with Quixel dDo.

mmmm ddo

Thanks chalkman!

Thanks jeh in! dDo is great!

I did other renders. These are from closer and with more depth of field.

cool works and renders !!:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

wow… beautiful work and gorgeous renders!

Thanks Gary Komar!

Thanks you Clintus Maximus!

Really great work, love the render.

Thanks!

Not that I’m a gun freak but I created another gun for the character I’m making. It’s a Walther P99.

Same as the last one, I created basic objects in 3dsmax and used dynamesh to assemble all of it through substactions and additions.

looks great! have you any wires? just curious

Ouch, wires would not show much!! I created it through dynamesh and ended up with very high res meshes. Once I was done “sculpting”, I re-dynameshed each part at a very low density and projected those newly created subtools with some subdivisions (that way I was able to create UVs).

I wanted to use decimation master with the option to keep uvs but I got crappy result. When you have very flat surfaces on an object, zbrush can’t keep nice UVs when decimating. I ended up exporting the high resolution meshes (about 5 million polys). In 3dsmax, I was able to create Vray Proxies so I could actually render it.

Basically, I’m using the raw highres meshes.

Actually, here’s an image of all the objects I used to form the gun in dynamesh.

Here’s the character the guns are for.

those gun renders look CRAZY good.

Thanks austinbath!

I’ll be making the low res meshes soon.

Great sculpting and really detailed!

I like the part of beard
the model is great, thanks for sharing

Thank you gustavoahlen!

Thanks Dyx86! The beard is just temporary. I’ll have to redo it in low res.
