Krote

I built this in Max, and animated a basic walk cycle. My plan was always to get this into ZBrush and rework it. I love building styrene models from Japan, especially Maschinen Krieger. My last trip there I met Kow Yokoyama, the designer of the Krote. It was the highlight of my trip! Anyhow, here it is…step 1 of my new WIP.

Progress on Turret, Transmission and Headlight so far. I’m getting concerned with resolution, as each piece gets a geo-makeover. I’m at just under 3 mil points and just getting started!

I’ve been waiting a year to get this in ZBrush (had to learn Max first), Dynamesh was worth the wait!

It’s over 15years ago I’ve build a Kröte by myself from an old SF3D model kit. I love Kow’s believable designs. Very cool idea to sculpt the Kröte in ZBrush. Nice work man… I stay tuned. :slight_smile:

Syrus - that’s awesome you built a Krote from the SF3D days, I recently built a Nitto kit. Fun & frustrating! Know is such an inspiration, I got to meet him in Japan. The highlight of my trip. Your work is cool too, has a Hieronymus Bosch / M.C. Escher kind of vibe. Love the “character” and personality your people have. Dreamscape stuff too.

Grot - thank you. I think the round hard surface stuff is super challenging, and more appealing to me than angular stuff. I really enjoyed seeing your portfolio, it has a Dali’ / Tool video look. A dark, dream-like, organic mutation sort of drama. It’s creative and surreal. Very thought provoking.
