Hey guys, this is my first post on zbrushcentral, and I thought I would show my demo reel which I just finished. I just graduated from VFS… :slight_smile:
I used zbrush for bump mapping, and some minor sculpting. Comments and critiques are very welcome :cool:

Hey, Kieran.

This is exceptional. The environmental effect is completely convincing and evocative of a Kurosawa movie. I expect Toshiro Mifune to enter at any moment. The kimono is delicate and fine. How do you create folded fabric with a pattern over all its surface?

Snark: thanks!.. I had to unwrap the dress (blehhhh…) then i made a pattern and hand painted stuff, etc… anyways, i’m glad you like it…

Very nice work. I do love the lighting and texture work on Kimono Girl.

I have to say, though, that you should also provide your models without the textures in your reel as well. The interior model (the room) was nicely done but you don’t get a clear look at the actual modelling. That’s why a plain textureless version is important. It can seem like you are hiding bad modelling with textures and lighting. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t doubt your modelling skill, it’s just that’s the impression one can get at the start of the reel.

Well done and hope you get a good job with this.

Just wanted to add my 2 cents worth…

I loved it all!! Music was perfect… the modeling outstanding. Presentation I give an A++!! Very well done all around!
