Very strong model. In terms of sculpting, texturing, lighting, everything. Great job.

bloody fantastic!
verywell done!

Woho, top row quality!:+1:

Great !:+1:

Love it. I think those big, almost hypnotic eyes are a great take on him. And I too prefer the feral, almost animalistic nature of Nosferatu although I do like Gary Oldmans interpretation too.

zogthedoomed: Cheers fella glad you like that take on him, I too really love Oldman version brilliant character that.
asecbrush: Thankyou!

Storm: hey man cheers! your final post was an insane amount of work you must be android hahaha good stuff.

Been playing around with more Zbrush BPR stuff here some quick light study’s following Majid’s lead with the rim cheers Majid. I need to put some more time away to fully exploit Zbrush rendering potential is immense.

Cheers

Awesome:+1: Look forward to see where you get with playing with lighting
(experiment wise) this already looks sweet.

nice Z renders!
U mentioned following Majid’s lead for the rim etc, u please send a link to that?
Cheers!

Also, great work!

very moody render

I so agree. Zbrush render does have great potential and as I currently discovered not as a replacement or -even worse - mimicking renders like mental ray, v-ray etc… but as an alternative render engine on its own.
I can’t quite put my finger on it yet, but Zbrush renders have a different feel, which happens to really suit my needs. if you are going for light simulation and photo realistic rendering then its not quite the best choice. but if you aim for a look that is closer to illustration or even painting, cartoon etc, then rendering in Zbrush seems to be a wonderful tool.
to put into a bit of an extreme analogy - the difference between Zbrush and Mental Ray/V-ray is a bit like the difference between painting and photography.

Darukin You can find Majid’s render test and settings in his Zbrush4 beta testers thread.
furthermore you can also have a look at my thread regarding BRP sss and light rendering. (link in my signature)
I’ve put some basic info about BPR light rendering and sss in there which should quickly get you started to do your own tests.

I really like that dramatic under-lighting setup you got in your last screenshot. Very nice modeling too

I love your sculpt and rendering, I just think this chromatic aberration is too much in your first pic. Too many people are using this aberration stuff in every pic they do.
But for the sculpt you get 5 stars.

Cheers

beautiful work dan. not much else to say. hehe

rasmusW: cheers fella
Mindblade: thanks for the feedback yes i agree I have gone a bit bonkers with it lately I just found it gave good depth and I like it for my piece. I have to get out of habit of using the tri colour map in the bokeh lol, next piece no chroma gunna be pure sculpt and Zrender.

Beneto:Cheers man glad you like that one.

Julian_K: Hi Julian thanks for the comments. Yeah I agree with you about the realism vs more illustrative result you can achieve I think I’m going to go towards somewhere more arty almost movie poster gouache illustrating on this next version and Zbrush is good for giving that quality I only just figured out what was going on to achieve the rim after like 2 hours. lol Cheers again.

Darukin:Thanks fella sure the link you need is here, you’ll find all the details of how to use the rendering if you struggle with getting the rim to work drop me a message I had a bit of trouble getting the correct focal point on it but it was cool because I found you can make a metallic look too your render by playing with that feature in your lighting setup alone, have fun

Dman3d: Cheers man glad you like it so far

:+1:

Thanks guys

Another quick mess around with the BPR and lighting menu, also bringing depth map into play.

Dan

that is really excellent. somewhere right in the middle between Murnau and old hammer horror painted movie posters.

I did also quite some fiddling and testing with 3ds max/mental ray recently, but such more stylized results are really quicker achieved with Zbrush.

Awesome, any chance on a mini-tut or screen shot? That comped right, not a straight Z render?
