Kemp Remillard Concept

Here is my new creature as based on a concept by Kemp Remillard.

The base mesh was modeled in Maya, sculpting was done in Zbrush, texturing in Zbrush and Photoshop, rendering in Maya with Mental Ray, and final comp done in Fusion with some minor post in Photoshop. The whole thing took about 2 weeks on-and-off to complete. Any crits or comments are welcome. :) - Sanjay Chand [![finalBack_Low_300kb.jpg|1200x855](upload://iZ93SXqAqSmk9IUbvrwe7qNEkcS.jpeg) Here are the render passes:

5 stars!

Super cool man!
Can you tell us a little about your compositing techniques?..or other strategies you used on this guy.
love it

Outstanding. Love the comp.

its great ! very nice render and comp…

Great design, beautifull sculpting! Bravo
You have very nice constrast in the shapes the only critic is about low frequency details/tissue “description” that is somewhat missing in the final render, maybe is because of the lighting that is a bit washing out the sculpting job in those areas.
Besides that great job!
Would be nice to see the original concept you use as reference!

Hi I love your piece!

I use MR and I am interested on what all those passes were that you have made? Could you list them from top left to bottom right? Comping is definitely the way to go and you’ve got a beautiful result so I’m very curious.

Also a quick light set up pic if possible?

Would really appreciate it.

Thanks everyone!

Here is a screen of my comp tree:
