Just Starting ZBrush: "Adding a Separate Mesh for Eyes" Tutorial Follow-along Issue

Hey all!
I’m new to ZBrush and have been following along the ZClassroom tutorials. I’ve gotten to the “Adding a Separate Mesh for Eyes” tutorial for sharkboy, but when I got to the end of the video and went to ‘mirror and weld’ my eye subtool, Zbrush informs me that:

The resulting 3D mesh does not contain any polygons. Operation cancelled.

My eye subtool was visible and selected, so I’m confused on what I’m doing wrong. It looks like I followed the tutorial well, but obviously I did something.

Can someone help point me in the right direction to troubleshoot the issue? Thanks!

I think you did follow the tutorial correctly, but in the tutorial, it looks like he was working in the back view and your mesh is in the front view. Your eyeball is simply on the wrong side of center. You can move the eyeball over to the left with transpose or you can go to Tool > Deformation and click Mirror with x axis selected. Then you can do the Mirror and Weld. With Mirror and Weld, anything that is left of center will be mirrored to the right of center (when in front view). That is why you got that error message, because there wasn’t anything left of center.

You were right. I just had to move the eye over and the ‘Mirror and Weld’ function worked like a charm! Thank you!
