Just one question on both programs

Does the new version of Zbrush4R2 have all the functions of Zbrush 4?, if it does what is the purpose of having Zbrush4 the old version?

Some people prefer having a known quantity still available when switching to a new version, in case there is a radical difference that proves to be a problem for them.

I believe the reason Pixologic advocates not uninstalling/deactivating Z4 has to do with the finite number of activations you have available at any one time. If R2 is installed on a machine with Z4 already present, they can share an activation code. Otherwise, you’d have to use a new one, and if you run out of activation slots, it can take a little more time to free up another.

Okay I got that, but does the upgrade R2 have the same features of the old one, plus the new features of R2, so for production, there is no need to use the older version, that is what I want to know.

R2 is a separate full version of Zbrush. The functionality of R2 is superior to Z4 in every way I can detect so far. That isnt to say there arent differences, some things aren’t in different places, and some things might not work exactly the same way. The only reason I can see right now that someone might not want to use the new version, is some obscure personal preference.

For license reasons, you still wouldn’t want to uninstall/deactivate Z4 if it is already installed, unless it’s on a hard drive from the 90’s, and every MB is precious.

I do not have to go to the old version, at my age, less is better in remembering two interfaces. I will just use the new version.

No, you never have to open ZB4, when Zr2 is installed. You should still not uninstall/deactivate Z4, if is already installed.
