Just a Little doubt, please Help

Hello everybody, well my doubt is regarding texturing / rendering.
I have a low polygon game model. As I am done with the texturing and everything, now I want to present it beautifully.

The problem is, when I created the diffuse/color map, I painted it using baked AO on top of all the layers on Multiply mode. now it looks nice in a real time viewport preview. but now I am confused, can I use the same diffuse/color map while rendering it using mental ray ? since the diffuse is already carrying AO darkness, then should I render an AO pass as well … please clarify.
