What uv map type you using for the armor parts, if it was uv mped by hand it wouldb be good if you woiuld add a big tileable alpha, as a bump map for all the parts, especialy the golden ones. Also i like the sculls teeth they look like hand made stuff now ;] Also the eye path needs some king of fiber bump map ;d

Man this project has been dragging lol! But it is been a huge learning eperience though. It’s the first time I try to render a character entirely with mental ray, first time using things like IBL FG GI Arch & Design mats and other MR tricks and technical stuff so thats why its taking long, really its a learning experience till now but worth it I think.
Recently I found a nice new fake velvet (falloff procedural) trick for the cape and cloth btw so yea I will fix the scarf thing!

the material of the skulls throws me off. Give it a metallic material. It should blend in better.

The cape feels like it stands out a little bit more than the rest of the model. I think it’s the texture. Everything else has small intricate details, but the cloth seems like it’s not as high res as the rest of the piece.
The small details on the face and the details in the metal look much better. The skull teeth still dont fit right to me though.
Looking better and better every time you post. You need to open up his eye though…He always seems sleeping to me. just my two cents. The teeth on the shoulder skulls are off…they just need the ridge line to show where skulls stops and teeth start.
hey thanks for your comments guys! I agree actually come to think of it, cloth definitely needs higher res texture. I will try to do that then and also fix skull teeth as people repeatedly said they were off, and also I think I’m going to open his eye once and for all.
