Jose Alves da Silva's (aka Zeoyn) Sketchbook

Thanks to everyone

jvanfleet> Well, some of these prints are made with the Z18 printer from Makerbot which can handle larger prints. The larger the print the better the quality. But my Replicator2 works really nicely, but it has the typical horizontal ridges from each printing layer.

sleepyhead> There was no cleaning. Just painted with a primer and then with paint

Thanks for that, it makes sense now. I just have the replicator 2 so I know about the horizontal stepping. Still a lot of fun but no where near that clean a print.

man that last guy’s absolutely awesome :):+1:

Awesome , Jose! superb sculpture as usual :D:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

Your images are stunning… as are your 3D prints. I find it all very inspiring, and wanted to thank you for sharing your work and your processes… I’m 3D printing a small character, and seeing how you assemble is great insight.

Bookmarking your work for inspiration.

Really awesome stuff Jose! Thanks for all the breakdowns too. Great to see this in progress. Thanks again!

John

Tom Baker is another character of the Margo project.
You can print him by downloading the files at Thingiverse:

jderiggi > Thank you so much

I have finally have green light to show this one

I created this cat for the musical project Quinta Feira 12 (which means Thursday 12).
He is the weird Lucky cat that will be part of the band’s image.
It was a great character project in which I did everything from concept to final photo composition.

That’s very impressive work. The cat creature is especially excellent, with great attention to details.

WOW… that’s crazy good work there.

Haha! Great work on that one! He looks like hes waiting for you to blink to bite his head off! He has so much character and come alive! Bravo!

Stunning work. Looks amazing. Was it all Fibermesh for the fur? or some other methods?

Thanks, everyone!

dopepope> Well, actually, the only thing that wasn’t made in ZBrush was the fur and the render. The model, retopology, UVs, painted textures were all made in ZBrush. Hairfarm was the 3DSMax plugin used to create the fur and the renderer was VRay.

Ah ok. The results are quite realistic and beautifully done. I’ve only recently started using Fibermesh, so I was wondering if it could even yield such results. Perhaps not, but it’s still an amazing set of tweakers.

Hi!
This is the Brooklyn Bridge Robot and is part of the Margo Movie project line of characters.
He was designed to be 3d printed. The base was created in 3DSMax and the details sculpted in ZBrush.
More info on the project can be found at Bold Machines:
