Neville…put a copy of ZB into Mr. Schell’s hands…he will have the answer to his question within the hour just playing with a sphere. He is gonna love it!

Class act Alan…look forward to the seeing more works from you!

Thanks aminuts soon I’ll post some work here. Thanks again mate

Alan

good job alan… :+1: :+1: :+1:

Hi Miguel I’m glad that you’ve liked man, thanks for your comment.

Alan

add some earings kinda reminds me of my ex mother in law:rage:

Well deserved top row, Alan, and a stunning first post :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

The only crit I’d offer (given that it’s ‘an interpretation’ rather than a copy
of Mr. Schell’s work) is that I’d ‘tighten-up’ the creases on the forehead’s
frown lines a little, and even up the ‘rims’ of the eyelids more

Superb shader network also

Chris

Hi Friend,

I don’t know if I read your statement correctly,… or if you wrote it correctly.
But, did you say,… “It’s your second week working with ZBrush” ???

if so, DAM!!! You’re a fast learner, GREAT JOB FRIEND!!!

yOur Blessed,

CAS

great work by both original artist and zbrush artist. the eyes are spot on.

anyone think this is a little strange though?

“I would only request that you let me know BEFORE you do an interpretation of my stuff to just ask me first.” Jordu Schell

Makes me feel a little weird. Like the next time I wanna model an R2 unit I need to contact Lucasfilm.

LOL-- “Originality is the art of concealing your source.”

1stbrother, I agree with everyone here that alancamara can post a study, but I’d never risk it these days… ever hear of Eric Eldred? I hear the poor sap thought he could post his own site with what he thought was “public domain” and got hit bad.

Yeah, you can do it, but let’s just say Lucas-- and Jordu Schell-- has long legal teeth these days, thanks to the new stress on Creators Rights. I’m annoyed at Disney for this, but I understand why they made the case.

Google for: copyright+Lessig+Mickey Mouse for a broad overview, from salon.com to the NYTimes.

Here’s one of many:

ps. I hope the wit who penned the saying on line one, isn’t Googling the Net for unattributed uses! I don’t know where it came from… shhh…

Thanks for you all comments, glad you’ve liked this work.

LIQUIDSNEEK Then she’s beatiful, hahaha

Hi Atwooki Thanks for your comment. This model I made just a study with displ. I agree, Really I’ve a few things to adjust in this model. The eyes size, the forehead, the jaw, the nose and more things. I don’t worry with this for now, cause to me is good as study of the disp. Thnaks again dude

Hey CAS NYC Hahaha, Yes I wrote correct, but I had a fast look for a demo version and I Already known the some tools. Thanks dude

1stbrother and Davinci990 It’s a good question  ufff

Dear Alan, absolutelly agree… we are livin’ in very strange world full of strange people (subjects), they have big-hungry-full-off-money-mouth… Continue to make your great artworks and don’t forget to ask one of those strange hungry brainless people, if you want to use a sphere… maybe is trademarked too…:sunglasses:

I’ll ask to Stanley Kubrick, hahaha, oh my god, to where us going? Thanks Abyssis :+1:

Alan

Yeah it is a litle strange the whole ‘trademark’ and intellectual property thing. By this rule of thinking maybe I should have asked alice cooper’s permission to do that head I did as it’s his likeness (all be it from 1986-91 ). To my mind as long as you are not copying a work directly or for profit, permission isn’t needed. Certainly not for learning purposes and if you didn’t post it online there would be no need at all.

While I can understand artists protecting their intellectual property, where do we draw the line? If something is influenced by a particular piece do these artists still belive they serve credit? A case in point was a model someone had made of a Feng concept drawing over on CGtalk. To my eye although the guy had kept the basic shape he’d added so much to it that it had as far a I am concended it had become his own work. Its no good a concept artist drawing a few basic outlines on a bit of paper then saying anything that remotely looks like those lines are his. I have to add though that fengs stuff is far from just a few lines and he produces great stuff. All I’m saying is if you’d put both side by side I wouldn’t have thought that the 3d work was a ‘copy’ of fengs work, only influenced by it.

I think it would be worth an admin posting a few guidlines here on a sticky thread. Because either its an issue to take care with, or one to ignore completely. I don’t see any reason to notify an artist before you do a piece if its done only for learning or practice and not for profit. By all means if it was to be published that changes the game considerably, but if its not then maybe thats taking intellectual property rights little too far.

Art is for everyone once its released… it isn’t meant to come with a set of rules and an instruction booklet.

Wayne…

this is a really fantastic:+1:

Yes, great link. This thread was begin by my friend Gilles, master in SSS.

Alan

Alan I am quite impressed with your interpritation. Jordu’s work shines in everyway through your fantastic version.

If I were a betting man, I’d say that Jordu would be in favor of that snot running down the cosmonaut’s nose. Gives Jordu’s character some intresting depth.

With all due respect, Hamburgler, pi$$ off please. You may not be a Zbrush Artist, or any sort for that matter, but you have an incredible talent with alienating yourself and expressing unintelligable and downright rude feedback to respectable members.

I have no respect for you and absolutely no time for childrens games. Please don’t come by here again.

Thanks again, Alan, for the impressionable render. May I suggest you give that snot crust as it runs down towards his lips.

Beers.

Wow stuning work!
Im curious about the eyes you should do a tutorial with that!
nice job keep posting

Absolutly amazing! I like yours better than the sculpture! Maybe because the eyes are so alive! Really some of the best eyes I’ve seen. And who doesn’t like snot? Idiots, that’s who. Thanks for getting my smile on after a long days work.
