Nothing more to say that hasn’t already been said…
Well I still think it’s great! Thanks for bringing one of my all-time favorite childhood characters to life. I have an awesome toon shader (RSL) that might be fun to test on him.
Holy Crap!!
Aweosme work Matt, simply amazing!!
Hello all! I’m a newbie, and I just signed up today.
Matt - I have to tell you that I signed up on this forum SPECIFICALLY because
of how amazing your Hulk model looks. I’m a big hulk fan, and want to either
sculpt (by hand) or 3D model a bust or statue of him. Yours is totally amazing.
Would you (or anybody) please let me know if it is possible to make something
like your 3D model, completely in ZBrush? I have many 3D software options and
I want something quick and easy to make 3D humans and monsters, that I can
either render, or possibly animate. Animation isn’t important to me though - the
ease, speed, look, and accuracy of the 3D model is. So far ZBrush looks very
easy and seems to give good results, but many people mention Maya also.
Inexpensive is also a consideration as well.
My sincere thanks to anybody with any information or advise!

Hiya
If you do return to this thread mattcoiffi could you answer me a quick question. I’m just learning z-brush and am trying to figure out a workflow with maya for animation. How did you setup the hulk so you could pose him? Did you just rig the low poly cage and subdivide the model at render time using the displacement map for detail? Also did you have any problems with the uv’s warping and messing up the displacement?
Thanks alot,
Hez
EDIT: Also, did you manually unwrap the model or use automatic mapping. tia
JSAuctionService: thanks man. there’s no reason why you can’t make models that look like my hulk model right in zbrush - i use maya mostly for tech reasons. i’ve been using it for along time too so i can do some stuff faster in there.
Hezza: i posed level2 of my mesh in maya then re-imported it into the zbrush file as a morph - i edited the zbrush file then exported the level5 mesh to maya for rendering. for my gangsta chimp i used displacement maps and bump maps - like you would if the model was rigged. i never use the automatic mapping thingy in maya. there are some very cool UV tools in maya 7 --unfold, UV lattice, and UV smudge.

Amazing work! I actually went cold for a moment when i saw it.
well
you are very talented i would say.Try casting works in brass and you will be in genuine world.Congratulations.I wish I could do the same as I am already making brass sculptures;)
hey folks
longtime no post here. all the work posted here lately is looking spectacular
here’s some interesting news surrounding this model. check out the battle brewing over an upcoming marvel comics cover. cg imitates comics, comics imitate cg

UNBELIEVABLE! It’s really the same!
And to you Matt: it’s your fault! next time don’t create such awesome works, so no pro imitates or copies your work.
After looking at the two images its so blatently obvious its pretty much an exact trace. Apart from the head being shifted slightly (but still being traced all the same) The lower body matches up perfectly, the line of the cloth on his ripped shorts and everything.
Again, amazing work mattcioffi and a shame that its been ripped off by someone who seems to be a respected comic book artists.
Hez
your work is so good, that ppl want to steal it !! I want to give you 6 stars
