JMC3D Sketchbook

Started off as a speed sculpt, but if I like the idea I’ll typically take it further the same day. Worked on several iterations of this guy. Finally got something I was comfortable with. I’ll be adding this to the several WIP’s I have going ;).

This was a quick one. Definitely needs to look older and more rugged. I’ll revisit this guy soon…

your improvement is stunning mate, really fantastic work on your quick sculpt. Looking really solid the anatomy.:+1:
The rabbit character is great too, definantly keep it going like that!
Cheers,

Thanks Kenny! Also, congrats on taking the win on CGHUB for the Character Forge ;).

Started on this today. I haven’t actually seen “Legend of Korra”, but the character designs are awesome. I was about to watch the first episode, but I told myself that I wouldn’t watch it until I got a complete body and minor detail done. So, I guess I can watch it now ;).

One of my favorite characters in Final Fight to fight. Great job on him so far.

So, I’ve been following Cesar Dacol Jr’s endeavor called “Monster Month”, and he’s inspired me to attempt to complete one monster a day for the whole month. Difference is, his sculpts are 100X better, and in clay. I’ll be sculpting in ZBrush since I don’t have clay and tools readily available. I’ll also be playing catch up since its already June 4th. This was a bit new for me since I usually work with symmetry in a generic pose. I have to admit, I loved it. I felt free, and it really brought a new organic quality to the sculpt.

I encourage you to check out Cesar Dacol Jr’s “Monster Month” on his channel

This is a WIP, and as far as I got today with the free time that I had. I’ll be revisiting this guy tonight, and hopefully post a more fleshed out version.

Ningyo WIP

These are so much fun! Discovering new techniques along the way.

[FONT=arial]Finishing a complete sculpt in an hour or two is a serious task. This is as far as 1 1/2 to 2 hrs is getting me right now. However, I’ll be revisiting these without a doubt.

Mutated big arm guy?

I need to get faster so I can start fleshing out the legs withing my time limit…

Oni!

I can’t even express in words how much I’m learning by doing these… I finally got to the legs on this one, but the feet need some love, and the hand with the club needs some more grip action.

Bit off a bit more than I could chew on this one, so it spilled into today’s crunch. But I feel that I got enough done to get my idea across.

Time to move on to todays’ crunch…

Unfortunately, life decided that I couldn’t keep up with my monster sculpts… So, I had a bit of a ZBrush dry spell for a couple of days. But I’m back to sculpting now ;).
