Did you make all the clothes in ZBrush?
Looks very nice! I like those cloth patterns you have in there. Nice touch to the design. Most surfaces seems pretty natural too. Well done.

@Moni-Poroni: Everything in Zbrush indeed, including clothing. I will probably texture him, cuz hey… what is a jester without colors ? I’m still not sure if Im going to make it a game character or a high res one. I’m a little bit scared with baking displacement maps on so many subtools. I’m not even sure if it is possible without it getting too crazy.

I have started polypainting the rest of the character, retopologizing to send into max and I ran into a problem. I posted in in the trouble shooting forum but no answer so far.
So I am re-posting here if it’s ok
Apologies if this has already been asked and answered but my search didn’t give any answer.
I’m using GoZ to send the face model into 3DSmax. The Zclassroom tutorial mentions that it is supposed to send your model with displacement and set up the proper values for you. I have noticed my model was sent to max with diffuse and normal map just fine, but there is no displacement at all.
Any idea why my displacement map nicely baked in ZB won’t be sent to max as the other maps?

I have worked out the displacement and everything is now read for final texturing and rendering. It is still going to take some time as my daily duties are taking most of my time but I will get there!
Here is a little skin shader test using mental ray.
I have to work out the eyes, eyelashes and eyebrows next to give him more life!

@ Sparky3d: He was part of the inspiration indeed but I took much much freedom from the original face.
Here is a quick update. It’s coming along. I have yet to add the facial hair and stuff but I’ll nail the costume first. Only eyelashes for now because they are so important for the eye reflection.
This is only a test render so apologies for any artifact or compression glitch.
Just a little 1h lunch doodle at work to day.
Nothing too crazy but was fun. I will try and keep doing such things
