Jester

No need for a chair.

…where is the front, that is the question!

hey Alex. hurry up with this tutorial…I wanna see it…c´mon…u shouldnt had mention that u recorded, now I am dying to see it…I love your tutorials…I will pay now…pre-order, dont sleep, we are waiting…

Very cool it reminds me of “Buzzard” from MIB the cartoon show. But with dreds, are we going to see any more angels and or poses?

dang… that was pownage. I must go learn me some new zbrushing stuff.

Great job!!!

Am awaiting the next zbrush dvd from you.
The previous one still ranks among the best ( and most practical)
I have ( alongside Meats’)
Stop with the personal stuff and get back to real work (dvd)

Hey Alex,
Great character! Simply inspirational! Being a Maya/Zbrush Instructor at Platt College San Diego, sometimes you guys at Gnomon are all we have to rely on for instruction ourselves, so let me first say a big thank you for that!

Also, thank you so much for the tip on the Normal Map node setup, sometimes(maybe all the time, being a traditional artist,ha!) this is the most frustrating part of the process!

Can’t wait for the tutorial, I always learn some new “yoda-like” ideas from each one of your tut’s. Thanks Alex, and again amazing work!

Absoluyly perfect “new gotic creature” style job Alex, congrat for the work overview too!

King regards!

Now this is cool!

Hi Lex,

Employed by the Devil himself, Jester must be a creature of the underworld. Or maybe not. I don’t know who he is entertaining where he is from, but he is definately making me want to throw another little ball at him to see what will happen.

I think he looks really awesome :rage: and scary!

Sofia

Coopl and original character!

Great work!

Cool stuff!
Looks a bit more interesting in Zbrush with the standard material then it does in the render. Design wise those tentacles and apendages facing the opposite direction the character would move, its a bit confusing.

That is one painfull looking sourceimage folder…

Great image!!!

this creature is realy deserve for top row !

congartoulations !

the high-res image is amazing

also thanks for the info on the normal bump trick!!!

:+1:

Your work is very impressive Alex. It’s limit of abstract !

I like your tutorial from gnomonology too ! Very interesting and the explanations are very good ! Good quality, I want more downloadable content on Gnomonology ^^

Thanks a lot for this all and I hope that gnomonology update soon.

Well perhaps we may see a making of jester on Gnomonology
lol

But that really is greatly done.

Thanks for all the feedback!  And to Pixo for the toprow!

Very glad to hear positive comments about my tutorials too. It is very motivating to me to know that they are helping people…

I’ll hopefully be able to start going through the recordings soon, but it will probably take a week or two to get done. I suppose it will be around five chapters: Base Mesh, UV Layout, Zbrush, Texturing/Shaders, Lighting/Environment. But its a lot of footage to deal with. Plus I’ve been thinking of rigging him and making an short anim. nothing narrative. just short and weird. I dunno.

So I just reskinned my personal site btw.

nice, although i would like to see it walk.

… He’s right! Where’s the front?

Btw, awesomely repulsive crazy hypnotic stuff. It’s like, it’s sick, but you can’t take your eyes away from it. LOL :+1:

And without dispmap? WickeD!

How high res is the mesh at rendertime if you don’t mind me asking?
