nice work.

Phenomenal sculpt. The expression has so much character, because it can be interpreted in so many ways. Looks like a bronze statue. Awesome work! :+1:

robinmitra1: thanks man!

Bryan Wynia: thank you. I dig your work as well.

Aberrant: hey thanks! that’s what I’m going for…

Here’s the full body shots. Still gotta do the longsword as well as the big lump of dead thing he’s standing on. Oh yeah, and the hair’s just placeholding for now till I come up with a better solution, possibly S&H.

More to come! Crits and comments absolutely always welcome.

You take something great and add to it. I am excited to see how the ogre or large anti-hero will look. This would lend itself to a low angle shot with some strong depth and perspective to it (at least in my head  ) anyway, no crits here just admiration. :+1:

nice subject matter, the pose is great, no real Crits yet, but i look forward to seeing more.

Great work.

I love seeing works in progress. It’s going to be interesting seeing the final result compared to this, since you obviously can sculpt pretty good.

I recently did a zombie chick for a horror film’s concept art. The early samples of the w.i.p. looked all doughy. It was pretty damn hilarious comparing them to the refined final images. They didn’t look scary at all! The finals were pretty nightmarish though.

The marshmallow man that your guy just killed with a low poly cylinder reminds me of those early pics!

Looking forward to the final images.

definitely want to see more progress on your last sculpt! At current stage, i have no crits at all. I am loving every sculpt and details you did. Awesome work sir! Cool pose too!

cheers,

fabian

Aberrant: Yeah, you’re right on to what I was thinking about pulling off with this. I still have two big hulky characters to place behind him (that’s who he’s looking at and getting ready to swing at).

threetails: thanks man. I’m hoping to have more next week. Lots left to do!

Disco Stu: hey thanks!!

Jamez: hehe - yeah I keep looking at that blob and it reminds me that I got a lot of work to do.

fabianlong: thanks fabian for your kind words. I’m glad it’s getting some good responses! Keeps me energized.

its looking really good, just like all your sculpts
keep going!! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:

hey thanks omnilight! And congrats on your hcm victory with the he-man and battlecat work. Just awesome!!

Awesome!
I can´t tell you which model is my favourite – your thread is full with excellent work!
Great!
:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Judging from your insanely cool thread gallery, I bet that work will be worth the effort.

great work!

very cool stuff! I’m a big fan of your work!

Jesse !You crazy Zbrush freak !
As I can see, you still kick asses around here !
Great last job ! The hero is really nice !
See you around mate !

Moni-Poroni: Thanks dude! That’s encouraging to hear.

Jamez: I hope so!

MaxAlbert: Thanks!

gelfling status: Oh cool! thanks!

gpepper: hehe! thanks mate!

Ok, so I was making progress on the other characters in the scene when the client contacted me about the expression on the hero’s face. They want him to have a “battle face” and not a “smirk” so I initially showed them a pretty angry snarl (upper left on the image below). Now it’s too much snarl in their opinion and want him to appear more “young, handsome, and innocent”. So I thought I’d try a more heroic sucking in of air…let me know which expression appears more in line with the commentary I’m getting. Of course, I’m sending this same image to the client so they’ll ultimately have say on what the approved expression so we’ll see.

More on the other characters soonish…

Thanks everyone!!

This is sweet sweet work man!

Oh man, the smirk was perfect hehe. Well, I’d say my favorite is the last one, but I think it is because he is kinda smirky in it, so maybe they wont like it. My 2nd fav is the bottom left one, the air sucker.

cheers!

I think I like the lesser snarl. Good balance between fury and composure.

Great job, I like the first snarl the most. All are good but I think for the scene the snarl is the best. :+1:
