Jesse Sandifer's Sketchbook

nice work, love the rage. it will be nice to see all the figures in a scene. really excellent.

I love it!! … and hey, ive got similar thing in my nose, and people always ask me that, so … how does he blow his nose?

Crazy sculpt!
One wouldnt even notice its not painted all the detail
makes it look finished already

5 stars and waiting for some really nice renders and textures  :+1:

Truly impressive, canät wait to see the final result

Nice! I think the ring’s should be more corroded rather than shiny and spotless. He does not look like the guy who is polishing his piercings. Some should be ripped out or dangling on a half ripped piece of skin as they are rather impractical in fight… Just imagine grabbing him by the nose thingy and twisting it slowly haha
Lemo

hey thanks Aberrant, Clockie, threetails, Disco Stu, Crumble, and lemonnado!

Lemo, that’s a really good idea. I was considering the same thing about the look of the rings once I got to texturing the guy. I’ll definitely consider putting in some rips and tears where some rings got ripped out. Maybe next to his right eyebrow and maybe some on his ears (although the topology might not hold up on the ears)

I’m trying to finish all the modeling of the characters by the end of the week so I’ll have updates coming!

This one is really insane man.
congrats for your evolution!
keep it up!
I always checking your last stuff.

cya mate

Ok everyone. Here’s my latest update. I’ve been working with the Decimator Plugin (genius) and bringing my characters back over to Max where I’ve temporarily lit the scene in Vray (lighting will change later). I did this so I can finalize my camera work. After about 10 different cameras and angles with the client’s requests in mind, this is the camera I’ve come up with. I’ve got a lot of texture work to do!!

nice work man, congratulations:D

where did his smile go ? ;(

hehe - client didn’t think the hero was taking the battle seriously so I was asked to change it to more of a “breathing in” face as he gets ready to strike. :expressionless:

thats sick dude… how long did it take you to create all 4 characters

Looks great, I can’t wait to see more!!

great compilation of characters. You have top notch work :+1:

Great scene, what a wonderful work (and workflow).

awesome im so happy to see the decimation master at work. power to the triangles!! http://www.youtube.com/user/konjothegreat

looks great, i love seeing full scenes being done. can i ask what sort of comp you used to create something like that, and is there any advice you could give someone who is just starting zbrush. Thanks!

WOW - really top notch work there man, I am very jealous.

kingaldin: hey thanks. The modeling has definitely been intense. Early on, I decided to model all sides of the characters even though I obviously don’t see the whole characters in the final shot. I did this because I wanted to be able to isolate them out and do some turntables later on. Each character has taken about a week to sculpt to final. I sculpted all the characters in their pose more as a traditional sculpture approach.

sgrell: cool thanks!

Aberrant: thanks again buddy.

maxinkuk: I appreciate that.

konjo kothar vignar: yeah, decimator is pretty dern cool. I can definitely see myself using it more for bringing stuff over to max and doing some cool renders. I couldn’t quite afford to capture all the fine and textural details in this scene so I have to still use a bump or fine normal map to keep it looking like the original once I get to the texturing stage.

zcomb: I used 3ds Max and Vray to render a 3 point lighting scheme. Then I took it into Photoshop and adjusted curves, tweaked the background, and put in some grain and fake depth of field. As far as ZB goes, just practice practice practice. Observe others and keep your subjects’ foundation the primary focus. ZB is just a tool.

scottleroc: hehe - thanks!

Great stuff! Love the intensity of the expressions. :+1:
