Impressive work - excellent.
Looks really good! Why would you need to render it outside of Zbrush? I think it looks fine.
wow, buddy, beautifil work for me, I like a lot bump on cloth… NICE!
Nice brush work on the hair. No crits.
He’s looking great! Maybe his forehead and chin look too clean and smooth? The odd sculpted surface defect or wrinkle might make the skin ‘pop’ more. Hope you are as bold with the use of red in your rendered version … his nose, in particular, looks brilliant.
keep going Patton, this is looking very good. I like the hair modeling, and is that all textured hair on the coloured render, or is postworked in photoshop or something? It looks fantastic

Thanks again guys,
panstar: the hair was a combination of two photos of hair applied at various sizes and angles in projection master, then the render was taken to Photoshop and I just used a simple brush and sampled the hair colors and drew on the wispy hairs on top in a few layers.
Hey guys,
Here is another pass at the head & clothes.
The hair is a bit sloppy but this was just to see the facial proportions
and to see if the new texture and bump ( thanks Moochie!) were working.
I have not been able to work on my main computer lately ,I have been at the hospital for the past few days, my wife just had a new baby girl!! So this pick was from a few days ago.
I had my laptop at the hospital so I started a portrait of Benjamin Franklin, I don’t know why I started a new one before finishing this one… Oh well!
Any C&C welcome and appreciated

Congrats on the new little one. You could name her Zabrina or Zuzu or zabriella haaa dohhhh…Am sure the wife thinks there are too many z’s as it is.
The portrait looks great…definitely recognizable. Can’t wait to see Franklin.
Enjoy your new gift.
Scott,
Bravo!!! Excellent job

I’m sure even Mr. Jefferson had a “bad” hair day !
Great seeing the painterly style of ZBrush go" hand in hand "with a great looking model

A superb painted quality to the finish. Beautiful work. Skin looks great.
C&C … only his left eye (the right one as we look at him). The left edge of the iris looks very straight, so the eye seems to be looking at the top of my head, whilst the right eye (left from our view) holds my gaze. There is also a tiny high-light along the right edge of the left iris (right eye from our POV), which implies the eye white is proud of the iris. Hopefully a touch of ‘clone’ or blur in PS is all that is required.
Congrats on your new addition, hope all are well.
Hi patton, looks awesome man, i like the skin tone and clothes a lot.
Keep it up
Congratulations on your baby!
Hope everyone is doing well.
Nice update. I like where you’re going with the texture and color.

On two levels!!!
Thanks for the kind words guys!
I am now smashing my head against the desk, that’s right! XSI/Mental ray time:mad:
I know this is Zbrush fourm but if anyone has a good light setup or scene, or advice, for XSI/Mental ray let me know…Please:o I cant seem to get anything that even remotely look good/real.
PATTON
Okay, I did another render, this time in mental ray, I still have no idea what I am doing .
I was kind of going for a painted look ( because I don’t know how to do real )
Still not what I really wanted, so I may leave it for a few days and see if mental ray will let me in on its secrets later!
I’m also having issues with my monitors looking completely different, so please excuse me if the saturation is jacked up.
Thanks Lemo for the help, But, still a bit over my head I guess, but I will keep at it.
