Here’s another update. His fists are turn a little weird now that I look at it. Comments or crits?

overall i think it’s looking great…especially the head.

to me, right now, the hands seem a bit big but that might be your intentions. also i don’t think you got into sculpting the legs so much yet, but if you did it seems to be a bit out of proportion with respect to the figure itself, an almost divided kinda feel to it.

can’t wait to see this progress…i really dug your wolverine.

Here is, yet again, another update. I’m adding more detail little by little. I’m hoping I don’t push it so far as you could see every fiber of muscle. We’ll see.

To me this guy is way too huge for Ye Ol’ Lantern. I would give him a much thinner physique since he doesnt have to physically move or run. I dont see why he would be this huge. His ring does it all. The waist is missing a bit of anatomy where the leg meets the waist.

The face looks really good. I would open his hands up so that your final picture can reflect emotion through the face as well as the hands. A closed fist is ok, but a hand with all the fingers spaced and flexed is a lot more dramatic. As good as you are with the core anatomy hands should be a sinch.

As Norman Rockwell said, “If you can get the head and the hands right, the viewer will forgive you for the rest.”

Here’s another update. I’m getting much quicker at this. I’ve almost got the low poly and the textures done. More to come soon.

His hips and his obliques seem a bit too narrow. With guys that size their hips are a little wider to hold up that type of upper body build. Everything else looks good.

He’s a little too burly for GL, but very nicely sculpted.

Here are some more revisions. I’m planning on doing a hi poly rendering with textures soon.

Just an update on my high res Lantern dude. Not all is finished here. I’m having to rework his neck area and make a ring for him.

Looks good dude, I’m sure you know that the neck area could use a little touching up, and the ring on his finger looks too flat, like it isn’t a ring. But I’m sure your still aware of all this. :laughing:

Here is my final version of this guy. I used Zbrush to model and 3D max to render. I wanted to do a version of Green Lantern that was classic and at the same time modern. Like his suit for example, it’s his classic suit but his physic is very modern (meaning ripped). I’m trying to build up a portfolio so I can get into the 3D world b/c right now I’ve been in the graphic design field for a few years and I’m finding it’s not creative enough for me. I found Zbrush under a year ago and I’m diggin it. I just love how you can have complex concepts in your head and have them come to life fairly quickly.

Looks really good, man. Only critique is that he isn’t casting a shadow on the ground.

Fantastic render, only thing that could make this better is a shadow like the guy above me stated, and also the texture used for the ground is a lower resolution than his boots, which makes it look like hes floating or you just added him to that pic. Other than this is a 5023423423/10! haha.

I’ve joined the Secret Agent Challenge recently and I’ve started on my “femme fatal” character. Mad credit goes out to Mashru Mishu for an awesome base mesh.

she needs a longer and slimmer neck. Her collar bone should be a m shape and not a n shape. The collar bone is a whole lot more pronounced on a female than it is on the male. That also gives the illusion of a longer neck. Longer and wider hips and her breasts should hang a bit lower on the rib cage as well.

Where did you find Mashru Mishu’s base mesh?

Here’s an update on my “secret agent” femme fatal character. She still needs tweeking. She will be holding a gun and wearing some high heels
