as a mark hamil fan and Joker (not the ICP version ) this is orgasmic :D:D:D:D
I remember seeing grunt in game and saying wow. He put the other characters to shame though.
Hey guys sorry for taken so long to get back to you all. Thx so much for the support and kind words! Hope I answered everyones questions. If Ive missed anything let me know =)
pimeto - We use both XSI and 3dsMax. We animate in XSI and run everything through Max for rendering. I personally do all my modeling in XSI and Zbrush and then texture in Max. The majority of the other character guys here use max though.
undoz - Lately I tend to displace as much as I can get away with. My basic setup is to poly model out a solid clean base and get in Zbrush as fast as I can. Usually displacement covers most ends for me, but I do tend to still retopo here and there when displacement gets too expensive. Normal maps always have there place as well =)
lear - Unfortunately those pics are all I really have to post from Dragon Age at the moment. I was hoping to add more pics of some WIPS when I get time but Ill have to dig through old archived files at work and right now im too busy.
Hazardous - Yes Blur did all the Cinematics for Dantes. Everything besides the 2d stuff that I beleive is in the beginning of the game. I havent played it but I do remember seeing some beautiful 2d stuff the client sent over. However all the 3d cut scenes are from Blur. Was an awesome project and was lucky to be a part of it. We also did that fancy super bowl add for Dantes =)
Morph Division - Unfortunatetly when we archived the Joker none of the Zbrush files were saved =( I have the character in max though. Its possible when I have time I can dig through the backups to see if they are in there.
cc909 - I do work long hours =) No I didnt use an HD geo on him. You would be surprised what a nice clean bump map can get you though =)
tokio - My workflow is pretty straight forward. Ill model out a base in XSI get her to Zbrush as fast as possible. Usually Ill unwrap before or sometimes after depends on my mood. Once I get my maps from Zbrush ill fire the model out to max and texture and render there.
enochian - Sup dude! thx man =)
siyukalebtao -For the Spider I broke him out into 4 pieces. I made one leg, one front feeler/leg, torso and abdomen. Now I know I have forgotten the proper nomenclature for the anatomy of my arachnid here but you get the idea =)
Eastman - HAHAHA i totally agree. What has been seen, cant be unseen! =)
eklettica - Thanks Allesandro! Its a real pleasure to work with you. Thank you for your kind words
Fluro - I still do most of my hard surface objects in XSI. This is something I may change in the future but for right now poly modeling is still faster and cleaner for me in XSI.
joe55 - hahaha… well Joe there goes my recommendation for you
BoBo_the_seal - Thx man! Been a fan of your stuff for a while now!
Superb works man been a fan of blur work for ages nice to see some production shots. I loved Dantes Inferno great work and great FMV well done!
All the characters are astonishing, amazing work
Insane, Blur never ceases to amaze me!
Amazing models.
Wow, gorgeous work man!
That Splicer Brute is the ****. The threads from the shirt and vest pulling apart is really lovely work. Texture work on the Big Daddy is aces too!
The long hours definetly paid off. Congrats.
jay!
that is some sick stuff, hoss. <canadianAccent>you couldn’t have landed at a better place, eh?</canadianAccent>
cheers,

Very fantastic work. Seeing stuff this well done is very inspirational. Thank you.
I’m also glad to hear that big companies are still using max for stuff like all of your work.
Oh, and because I thought it was funny: The Alpha style Big Daddy reminded me of Bomberman:

Heh, keep up the good work man.
awesome is an insult this is far beyond awesomeeeeeeeee…hats off
Wonderful renders there! Just wondering why choose max over xsi for rendering, and how are you getting those nice anistropic highlights in the metal in max, the shaders were all done and rendered there right? Is it all mental ray or brazil, and did the hi-res models come from the low-res counterparts?
 太漂亮了 特别是合成效果 很真实
Thanks for the insight Jason!. I know that you guys switched to MR, but damn if I can get good results with displacement maps in it.
whaou !
so cool !
i play mass effect2 and bioshock on 360…
you did a fantastic job.
Congrats and thank you for sharing your pics.
Cheers
