Hi my name is John

I have been wanting to put some of my Zbrush work up for a while now, but I have been really busy.

I was the Senior Character Artist for Midway Studios Newcastle, responsible for the main characters in the game.
To start with here are screen captures of WIP heads I did for “Vin Diesel’s Wheelman” out earlier this year.

High end in game head was 1500 Polys
The Zbush head Models are under 2million Polys
We made the textures at 2048 resolution but they got knocked down to 512 in game, Diffuse, Spec, Normal and a combination map for gloss, Rim light and bloom.

Rafeal; thank you for starting off, I am a big fan of your work so it means alot to me that you like mine.

RAD66303; Milo the Vin Diesel Character has a very smooth face, the others needed a different mesh to compliment their silhouettes but all facial animations worked well. So no mesh was better than another.

Here is some more Zbush works, this time concept pieces with a more comic book style. Each model took a couple of days, I found Zbush to an excellent tool to explore a concept playing around with variations with ease, using layers and sub tools.
