Jagged Edges While Editting

Hello guys,

I just purchased Zbrush today and I am doing quiet well with the program. Unfortunately one thing I can’t find in forums or google is a problem I am having with jagged edges while editing my model.

This is freshly imported through the Polymesh3D function. I like to get in close on some areas of the model while painting. Subdividing doesn’t seem to help either. I am having this problem both on my tablet pc and my main workstation.

Please let me know if you need anymore info, and I appreciate your help in advance.

Cheers,

Cody

You’re zooming the canvas, which is exactly like doing the same thing in Photoshop. It enlarges the pixels and of course that makes the pixelation quite evident.

Instead, you want to scale the model on the canvas. There are buttons for that on the right side of the canvas, near the bottom of the shelf. And of course there are keyboard shortcuts for it as well.

I recommend viewing the introductory video tutorials and/or reading the ZBrush Fundamentals guide. See my signature.

Yeah I watched many of the videos, but haven’t ever seen a 3D program pixelate a model by zooming in.

Other 3D programs don’t have a 2.5D side.

ZBrush has dual modes. 2D/2.5D for painting and 3D for sculpting. You were simply mistakenly using 2.5D controls rather than 3D controls.

My suggestion for the tutorials was simply to point you to where you could learn the 3D controls.
