itsy tiny bit of movement when importing a model

Gidday,

Got a bit of a problem, I have exported a model(lowest div lvl) from Zbrush and created some new UV maps in Blender and Maya. Problem is when I import the model back into Zbrush (in to the old model)the model moves/rotates for a little bit, like 5 degrees to the left(or east/ port side). It isn’t flipping or anything I turned all the flips off in the preference menu.
I am also pretty sure I didn’t move the model while unwrapping, I just changed the UV space.
Was wondering if this is maybe because I ran the model through blender first, and later adjusted the orientation again in Maya to get it right.

It isn’t a huge problem I just need to reposition the model again in Zbrush to align it with the subtools. But it bugs me that it happens, can’t stand it actualy…
Anyone got an idea why this can happen?

Thanks

The problem comes from Zbrush not having a standard SRT location…or at least not recognizing the difference.

Anyway, if you’re going to be exporting out to another application you’ll want the top tool to be an obj coming from that application. I have a box in XSI that I start every zbrush work session with. It is dead center in XSI and perfectly symmetrical. When you do this you establish the global SRT at the beginning of your project so that when you’re importing/exporting nothing gets “nudged” over.

This should help you in the future.

Allright I see the model was indeed started in Zbrush and not another application.
I will keep it this in mind for other projects in the future.
thanks for the tip!
