its gone!!

yep… the whole tool…
its still in the sub tools, all the parts are there, its just disapeared from my workspace. any ideas how to make it visible again?
I tried visibility thinking some odd key stroke activated that… no joy
not masked
not tiny
it happened when I clicked ctrl Z to undo a move action.
I can switch to another sub tool and hit frame, but they are all invisible…
I can load in other tools and view them, so its only effecting this tool set.

any ideas? screen shot attached.

Try exiting Edit mode, making sure that Draw>Zadd and Draw>Mrgb are active, then drawing the model again. Hopefully it will now be visible, after which you can enter Edit mode again and continue as normal.

no… tried that, I cant even draw it into a new document… :frowning:

try useing ctrl shift and mask an emty space. if that dont work. worst case try export obj file
and inport in maya and export obj and open that file in zbrush

try pressing f to frame it on screen once for selected subtool twice for all subtools, it appears its just out of veiw pressing f should fix this. if it does not it may be something different… either that or your normals could be inverted, if all else fails you may have to unify each one from the deformation pallet and arrange them and transpose them as needed…

Try turning off Perspective. If for some reason there is a stray vertex way outside the model then ZBrush’s attempt to render in perspective will make the model disappear.

sorry guys tried all this… no inverted normals… no masked elements, no extraneous pixols sitting off in the distance (which can often happen with Blender imports)… Ive tried to export it but it fails, only outputs a corrupt file I cant open in Blender.

Its happened to me before, Ive never got to the bottom of it, I just have to save regularly just in case. this one sadly lost me 1 hour as I got engrossed :frowning: still I have an earlier itteration to fall back on.

if anyone else has any ideas please shout, Id like to get to the bottom of it for future reference.

Thanks for your replies, I appreciate the thought and time.

If you have this happen again after pressing Ctrl+Z (like you said happened here), use Edit>Tool>Redo immediately. This should step you back up to where the model returns.

I just found this thread. I had something like this happen to me and unify under the deformation tab did the trick.

Aurick might want to double check me on this though.

thanks… its happened a few times lately, next time Ill try hitting unify and see what happens.
