Its a hoot

Well I should have been working but after Monstermaker posted his gorilla I wanted to have a go at an ape-from-man-mesh (I used the 'slightly superman mesh http://206.145.80.237/zbrush/reg/su...eMan_hi_m07.zip
).
I thought we all were like a bunch of excited monkeys with a new tyre (Zbrush) to play with! Thats how i feel anyway.

Love the monkeys expression.

The one with hair is very nice even with the smooth skin, and I like the new details you have added in the last post.

Great work herdmann. The skin material is very nice…especially the shot of his lower lip…it definitely looks wet. Could you give me any tips on how you achieved the wrinkles in his lips? Are all of those pores done in PM? If so what level of subdivision were you at? It seems like no matter what level I’m at when I go back to edit mode the displacements made by PM look like crap.

Hi Leebert,
the material is just basic mat1 with the ambient turned off. And a bit of toyplastic with the ambientoff for his lip.
I took him to sub div 6 - 1,024,000 polys and made the biggest texture

  • 4096 x 4096 . That seems to hold the projecion master details well enough to just slightly soften things when you pick up.

thanks for the comments
