Issues with Zproject in Zbrush 3.5 R3

I’m trying to project a texture onto a mesh… from an imported image laying at the background of the canvas…

Whenever I try to project the texture onto my tool, using the Zproject brush, it doesn’t grab the coordinates I set up with the transpose tool…

It paints whatever is directly underneath my tool, in this case I have several subtools, so it paints a weird transparency effect onto the surface of my tool… (paints the silhouette of the eyes and teeth etc. which are below the surface)

From what I’ve watched in several tutorials explaining Zproject, I should pick up the Zproject brush, switch to “Move” to place one transpose line end on the portion of the image I want on my mesh… and the other end on the point I want to paint on my mesh… then switch back to “Draw” and paint the texture right? That’s what I’m doing and it keeps painting whatever is directly beneath my tool surface…

Has the functionality Zproject brush been changed in Zbrush 3.5 R3 or something?

Took me some days to find out…

In case anyone is on Zbrush 3.5 R3 and runs through the same problem, Pixologic is removing the “transpose method” for the Zproject brush, it now grabs the informationg from what is directly underneath the surface that will be sculpted or painted…

I wonder why that point hasn’t been covered in the videos as much as all the other features… Would have saved me some time, but oh well… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hi. I don’t really understand how am I supposed to know precisely what’s behind my mesh. It must be some solution to this, like transparency or whatever. Some help please?? projecting what’s behind doesn’t work for me since I can’t see what I’m cloning <img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”>.

cheers! and thanks
