Issues with exporting textures to Max

Hi guys, somewhat new to Zbrush but I’m learning…or trying to anyway.

I have a problem. I sculpted and polypainted a mesh inside Zbrush. In Zbrush it looks great, everything is perfect. But I’m trying to export the whole thing on over to 3DS Max for animating and that’s where the issues start.

My mesh imports fine, but the polypainted texture is distorted inside Max, it’s UVs aren’t carrying over properly (or at all). I’ve tried using Zbrushes standrard UV tools, I’ve tried UV Master, nothing seems to work.

Can someone walk me through the proper way to do this step by step? I feel like I’m missing something, but after trolling through the forums here and other sites I don’t see what it is I might be doing wrong. I’ve followed several tutorials on the subject but each time I get the same result.

Any thoughts?

your maps need to be flipped vertically.
in Zbrush go to texture>flipV
in Max, adjust the UVW settings in the material.

or you can just flip the image vertically in PS as well.

Ugh, I knew I was missing something simple. Thanks so much.

happy to help.
