Issue with Ambient Occlusion and making it a texture [Answered]

I am having a problem with Ambient Occlusion. I am going to the masking palette and creating a nice ambient occlusion mask. Then when I go to the texture palette and click on create texture from mask, the texture is black. and the tool color on the screen changes to black with white specks intermittently located around where the AO mask should be. Can’t capture the ambient occlusion mask. Any suggestions. I have re initialized Zbrush, restarted Zbrush, and changed the tool colors in an effort to figure this out but I am stumped.

Thanks in advance.

This is a known issue with ZBrush 4R2. Until this is fixed in an update you can:

  1. Fill the model with white.
  2. Mask using ambient occlusion.
  3. Invert the mask by pressing Tool>Masking>Inverse.
  4. Fill the model with black.
  5. Press Tool>Texture Map>New from Polypaint.

Remember to clear the mask when you’re done.

This worked, Thank you.
