Is ZMapper and ZAppLink in the new Mac (3.12) version of Zbrush

Is ZMapper and ZAppLink in the new Mac (3.12) version of Zbrush?

If not, when will these be added?

Thanks

3.1 dll plugins are not compatible with 3.12, when the PC and Mac versions are synchronized with the next version, this will no longer be an issue.

No plugs no scripts yet.

Is information EASILY available regarding what is NOT available for Zbrush 3.12 (mac)? Paying for Zbrush and not getting what you expect is one thing… having to play detective while trying to learn the software is EXTREMELY frustrating.

A couple of key things are missing, notably Zmapper and Multidisplacement. You will probably told you don’t need these things anymore. I suggest you try for yourself and decide. You’ll can search the threads and see what several other long-time ZB Mac users have to say about ZB 3.12 if you don’t believe me.

There are also signicant bugs around displacement map generation, subtools transparency, and topology; some acknowledged by Pixologic and some not.

Very few of my students who need to take a model from ZBrush into another package (such as Maya) are using ZB 3.12 Mac right now because of these issues.

I myself use Windows now for Zbrush, though we have several macs in the shop. It is simply not worth the lost time to fight the problems with ZB 3.12, and now with little sign of ZB 3.5, it would be ill-advised to start any professional animation modeling using ZB Mac.

Yeah, they have class action lawsuits over such things.
Fortunately, we just want what was shown in the first place; an application that works (as advertised)!
With no news coming, and an app that was knowingly sold broken, it definitely gets the frustration going.
…but, since the first quarter of 2009 is coming to a close, I guess we’ll be getting that much anticipated news of 3.5…
I just hope the news isn’t; “get ready to wait for news of 3.5”

…this is just getting kind of ridiculous being in the dark so long with only promises of something that we should’ve had months ago.

…oh well, I love the app, but could do without the smoke, mirrors, and/or silence.
C’mon pixo tell us, “what’s the deal!”.

Very interesting. I wish I had run across this BEFORE I bought 3.12 for Mac. I’ve spent at least 3 weeks trying to get displacement maps to work in Maya. Grrrrrr.

Please update to 3.12B. It has excellent built-in displacement and normal map generation, including the ability to create 32-bit displacement maps. You can get the update from the Download Center. See my signature.

Thanks. I’ll install and give it another try.
