Here are some timelapses for the Jekyll & Hyde sculpts. I want to get into the habit of recording my work a bit more as I’ve found it a really useful tool for self evaluation!<br>

I just subscribe to this thread
really amazing stuff man. Love your work. so much character and depth
Really stunning work here!
Realy brilliant! love this work!
Hi James,
the Remembrance day sketch is exceptional, although it is so much more than a sketch.
You’ve captured a great chiseled, sculptural quality that is perfect for the subject.
All of your sculpts shown in this thread have got so much depth and form, all rolled up into an engaging character.
Thanks for sharing them with us.small_orange_diamond

dustbin1_uk & timpanin84 : Thanks, really appreciate the comments
johncox85: Thanks so much! I love playing with planes and asymmetry with my sculpts. Sometimes doing this ends in disaster but most of the time I’ll learn something from it! I’ve found it also translates well into a printed object if I want to go that route, which is always fun
The remembrance day bust looks killer man!
Busts on the theme of Frankenstein
I really had fun playing around with these characters, some great themes around the book to play with and expand on.

Here’s my latest finished project, I really wanted to challenge myself and test the limits of what’s possible with both Zbrush and Keyshot on my system. I’m not the most organised of artists so it was a really good experience to plan and manage a project of this size and there were definitely areas I could improve on! The sculpt itself is based on an old sketch which I had great fun revisiting. I’ve included a breakdown of some of my process, it’s not exhaustive but I found it really useful to appraise what I’ve learnt and hopefully it gives a fun insight into how I went about things.

Very individual and distinctive as always - even more so. I’ve been admiring the heroic drama and energy you’ve encapsulated in this piece without overplaying the details for the flow.
Love the clothing wrinkles which you do so well to bring further life to your work
A piece with the energetic qualities of an N.C Wyeth and his illustrative contemporaries made 3D.
Bravo James,
Boozy
beautiful work and thanks for sharing the process
This is absolutely brilliant.
You are one of my ZBC top artists and this work belongs up there on Top Row for sure.
What a strong scene. Excellent poses, very dynamic.
Your style - I only can repeat myself - your style is unique, expressive and strong.
Your detailing is very much what is needed to have the scene consistent and all these little animals makes it just gorgeous.
A great viewing experience.
The use of zBrush is top notch - and thanks for your workflow btw.
May I ask you about the scenes background and story? Is there any?
Would also love to see your sketch, as it’s all based on your personal art.
Thanks so much for sharing!
impressive work surely deserves a top row
boozy floozie - Thanks so much, I’ve been admiring your illustration work in Zbrush for a while! I love all of the Illustrators that evolved from the Brandywine School and my personal library’s full of books of their work so it’s awesome if someone has seen even a hint of their style in my own work.
Kryats - Thanks and no problem, it’s my pleasure!
Knacki - Thanks so much for you comment, it’s always nice to hear from you! Yes of course, see my sketch below, I polished it off in photoshop back in 2012 over the top of the old sketch which was done back in 2007 i believe. It was just a silly scene I had in my head that I found cathartic to get out onto paper :). I chose to sculpt it because I’ve been wanting to do my own work in ZB for a while and it feels like I’ve now come full circle from where I started. I added the Crow gang after watching the TV show Father Ted where the Crows keep stealing Father Jacks glasses to make their nest. I kinda liked the idea of the adventurer out for loot guarded by a gang of jealous Crows :D. I designed the Bard as a foil for the Hero, hes so drunk he’s just along for a bit of fresh air and a sing song…
Jhon_Erick - Thanks Jhon!!
This is absolutely brilliant. Top row material!
Awesome piece!! I like it.
