Hi everyone, just wondering, after working for an hour without saving and then getting a crash for no apparent reason just one time too many, I need to know if it’s possible to turn on an auto backup tool option or something? I’ve just lost so much work through forgetting to save every now and then. Also, every time I do, it’s a big event, having to go to the lowest subdivision level, save, choose to save texture with it, possibly also alpha, and then go back up the subdivision levels to continue working. No handy Ctrl S option here… I’ve tried searching the forum for an auto backup feature, but can’t find it anywhere, does it exist?
Not exactly. There are problems with trying to script such a utility, not least that a zscript/plugin is only active as long as another zscript/plugin is not loaded, at which point any ‘automatic’ function is lost until the script is reloaded.
However, there is Svengali’s PSNAP which provides an easy way of making regular saves (but you still have to remember to do it!).
Cool, thanks for that Marcus, (and Svengali of course!), that’s exactly what I needed. Speeds things up considerably too. Excellent!
